Medical Management Innovations is always on the lookout for RN’s to fill our Field Case Management positions. Here is some basic information regarding this position:

Primary Purpose of Position

  1. To provide case management services in a workers’ compensation environment that focuses on proactive management of the medical treatment through assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation.
  2. To proactively manage the file to identify the barriers to return to work and development of a plan to overcome those barriers in a way that allows for a return to work and productivity as soon as medically feasible.
  3. To exhibit professional behavior and demeanor appropriate to the position, which ensures the success of the position objectives.
  4. To participate in company activities to promote the success of the individual, colleagues and the company.

Knowledge and Skill

RN with minimum three (3) years clinical experience. Other related case management background or workers’ compensation experience or utilization review, home health or discharge planning experience helpful. Must have basic computer skills and know or demonstrate the ability to quickly learn Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, iPhone, iPad and the company’s electronic Case Management System (CMS). Must have strong writing skills and be able to write professional business correspondence. Must have strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with all parties involved in a claim as well as within the company.

Problem Solving / Decision Making

The integration of the nursing process which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation as well as the management process of planning, organization, directing and controlling provides the framework for decision-making for this position. Assignments are based on the employee’s current case load and requested activities of the new assignment, previous expertise as well as geographical location. Medical background, collaboration with other case managers as well as adjusters and medical textbooks are utilized as resources.

The employee must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; exercise sound critical thinking skills; effectively, professionally and respectfully communicate both verbally and in writing; collaborate with other team members including but not limited to peers, physicians, employers, attorneys and insurance carriers; and have attention to detail.

The employee must be willing to communicate questions, concerns, ideas, and suggestions in a productive, professional way. A willingness to provide and receive feedback as it relates to the company vision is necessary. The employee must utilize the company vision to make decisions/suggestions to work toward the success of the company and colleagues within it.

Valid RN license. Valid driver’s license.
